bORN, Paul is a studio based artist, working and living at his studio based on Dartmoor. He works in multi media including sculpture. The natural materials used to create his work comes from an organic source, such as clay and wood of which is foraged from the local and surrounding areas, natural art created from organic materials. Working on multiple works simultaneousley Pauls influence comes directly from the material its self of which takes on its own life form. This ritualistic approach harks back to early artistic creations of our ancesters and offers up a stark rawness to the work presented..through the clay we can trace our roots, which releases a natural mystic energy, diverse, emotionally charged, truthful and honest work of which relates back to Pauls African ancestuary and the essence in approach to all the sculpture created. For Paul this is an ancient practise allowing him to step out of the zone and realize who he is. The work thus produced presents to us a cultural explosion, where the work becomes its own language.
This artist uses a simular ethos when approaching his painting of which is produced on to large canvases and opting to use paint pigment crushed and prepare in order to carry on in the use of organic materials and a main theme to these natural pieces of work. This approach once again is a strong source of inspiration in creating these large tribal, energetic and fassinating paintings. Each piece of work produce encourages the viewer in to taking an active part when engaging and decifering each these incredible pictures. NATURE AT WORK..
